ISBN: B00G1743XG
Title: Methods of Persuasion Pdf How to Use Psychology to Influence Human Behavior
Over 50,000 copies sold!

Using principles from cognitive psychology, Nick Kolenda developed a unique way to influence people's thoughts. He developed a "mind reading" stage show depicting that phenomenon, and his demonstrations have been seen by over a million people across the globe.

Methods of Persuasion reveals that secret for the first time. You'll learn how to use those principles to influence people's thoughts in your own life.

Drawing from academic research in psychology, the entire book culminates a powerful 7-step persuasion process that follows the acronym, METHODS:

Step 1: Mold Their Perception
Step 2: Elicit Congruent Attitudes
Step 3: Trigger Social Pressure
Step 4: Habituate Your Message
Step 5: Optimize Your Message
Step 6: Drive Their Momentum
Step 7: Sustain Their Compliance

This book teaches you the psychology behind each step. You'll learn how to apply METHODS to your own life so that you can influence people's thoughts, emotions, and behavior in nearly any situation.

is BRILLIANT! He explains each concept using easy to understand ... Just buy it! Even though I'm less than 1/2 way through the book, I've alreadyreceived more than my monies worth. It's a book that's hard to put down. The author, Nick Kolenda, is BRILLIANT! He explains each concept usingeasy to understand language, backs it up by citing the research & source, and then uses the same methods on the reader ensuring that you experience it1st hand. BRILLIANT!It Turns Yellow After Reading Okay, I wasn't going to review the book, but it's too good not to review.Nick Kolenda has done a masterful job of taking complex psychological issues and techniques discovered through imaginative researchers, and reduced them to simple explanations we can all understand. He's done it with humor, while at the same time treating it as the serious subject that it really is. He says in his foreword or introduction (somewhere) that he hopes this will be the most underlined/highlighted book in our libraries. Turns out he's right. You know a book is well written when it is not only entertaining, but also so densely packed with interesting stuff that most of it is turned yellow by enthusiastic highlighting. This is one of those books. One of the most fascinating books I have ever read Interested in the psychology of persuasion? Seriously, look no further. Well written, fascinating, and eye-opening. This book is densely packed with incredibly useful information, condensed and colored and humanized in such a way that makes for an easy read, and keeps you guessing (and turning the pages). The citations are a appreciated, as I'm naturally skeptical, so I appreciate that so much of this book is grounded in real research. The humor and down-to-earth tone of the book is refreshing, as it doesn't take itself too seriously. Every chapter brings something new and interesting to the table, and everything gets wrapped up nicely. The only thing I would have wished for is for this book to have a hardcover option, as I would have gladly paid more to have a hardcover of this on my bookshelf. Here is me trying to persuade you, Nick (David W. et all, 2018). Well written, and kudos. You're a hero, and probably a wizard, too.

Metahuman Pdf

ISBN: B07TN349K3
Title: Metahuman Pdf Unleashing Your Infinite Potential

Is it possible to venture beyond daily living and experience heightened states of awareness? In his latest book, Deepak Chopra says that higher consciousness is available here and now.

"Metahuman helps us harvest peak experiences so we can see our truth and mold the universe's chaos into a form that brings light to the world." (Dr. Mehmet Oz, Attending Physician, New York-Presbyterian, Columbia University)

New York Times best-selling author Deepak Chopra unlocks the secrets to moving beyond our present limitations to access a field of infinite possibilities. How does one do this? By becoming metahuman.

To be metahuman, however, isn't science fiction and is certainly not about being a superhero. To be metahuman means to move past the limitation constructed by the mind and enter a new state of awareness, where we have deliberate and concrete access to peak experiences that can transform people's lives from the inside out.

Humans do this naturally - to a point. For centuries the great artists, scientists, writers, and many so-called ordinary people have gone beyond the everyday physical world. But if we could channel these often bewildering experiences, what would happen? Chopra argues we would wake up to experiences that would blow open your body, mind, and soul.

Metahuman invites the listener to walk the path here and now. Waking up, we learn, isn't just about mindfulness or meditation. Waking up, to become metahuman, is to expand our consciousness in all that we think, say, and do.

By going beyond, we liberate ourselves from old conditioning and all the mental constructs that underlie anxiety, tension, and ego-driven demands. Waking up allows life to make sense as never before. To make this as practical as possible, Chopra ends the book with a 31-day guide to becoming metahuman. Once you wake up, he writes, life becomes transformed, because pure consciousness - which is the field of all possibilities - dawns in your life. Only then does your infinite potential become your personal reality.

Praise for Metahuman

"Our world is preoccupied with material progress, yet too often we overlook the miracle of our very existence. In this remarkable book, Deepak Chopra reminds us not to be distracted by the idols of our age but to marvel at the deep truths of being. Metahuman is a handbook to becoming fully alive." (Arthur C. Brooks, PhD, Professor, Harvard Kennedy School; author of Love Your Enemies)

Title: The Seine Pdf The River that Made Paris
Author: Elaine Sciolino
Published Date: 2019-11-05
Page: 304

Elaine Sciolino is a contributing writer and former Paris bureau chief for the New York Times. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Only Street in Paris. She and her husband have lived in Paris since 2002.

A vibrant, enchanting tour of the Seine from longtime New York Times foreign correspondent and best- selling author Elaine Sciolino.

In the spring of 1978, as a young journalist in Paris, Elaine Sciolino was seduced by a river. In The Seine, she tells the story of that river through its rich history and lively characters―a bargewoman, a riverbank bookseller, a houseboat- dweller, a famous cinematographer known for capturing the river’s light. She patrols with river police, rows with a restorer of antique boats, discovers a champagne vineyard, and even dares to swim in the Seine.

Sciolino’s keen eye and vivid prose bring the river to life as she discovers its origins on a remote plateau in Burgundy, where a pagan goddess healed pilgrims at an ancient temple. She follows the Seine to Le Havre, where it meets the sea. Braiding memoir, travelogue, and history through the Seine’s winding route, Sciolino offers a love letter to Paris and the river at its heart and invites readers to explore its magic.

Title: Purple Cow Pdf Transform Your Business by Being Remarkable
Author: Seth Godin

You're either a Purple Cow or you're not. You're either remarkable or invisible. Make your choice. What do Apple, Starbucks, Dyson and Pret a Manger have in common? How do they achieve spectacular growth, leaving behind former tried-and-true brands to gasp their last? The old checklist of P's used by marketers - Pricing, Promotion, Publicity - aren't working anymore. The golden age of advertising is over. It's time to add a new P - the Purple Cow."Purple Cow" describes something phenomenal, something counterintuitive and exciting and flat-out unbelievable. In his new bestseller, Seth Godin urges you to put a Purple Cow into everything you build, and everything you do, to create something truly noticeable. It's a manifesto for anyone who wants to help create products and services that are worth marketing in the first place.

Would have loved more data I’m a numbers person, so since marketing is not my main focus I am only half heartedly putting this out there, but statistics and more numbers around growth or references would have been cool. As it stood, it was mainly commentary. Very good commentary, mind you, but commentary on ideas around how to be the purple cow. Definitely have some takeaways, and I love the vision, but would love to see more structure.Subjective Idea There really isn't anything negative or positive than can be said about this book. Marketers have their ideas on what works and what doesn't. It is all subjective. However, the notion that a company should be unique (a Purple Cow) or have something unique about at least one of its products or services makes a lot of sense. The concept of USP (unique selling proposition) as been around for a long time now and this book is just somewhat expanding on that idea by applying the concept to a company or marketing campaign. The book is only 140+ pages; I think it is worth a read just as I think anything written by Seth Godin is worth a read.Having a Purple Cow This is the second book I have read by Seth Godin. I think this is a great book. It covers a fairly wide market segment with a very specific subject. Although not very deep and challenging, its concepts are easily accessible and speaks to people who have no clue about marketing as well as people who are in business leadership. Although not all of the book is written for a more seasoned marketer, there is plenty of great ideas for even the most curmudgeon, stuck-in-the-mud, business person. All together, this book lays an excellent foundation for those looking for fresh ideas in stale markets.

Title: The Ethical Algorithm Pdf The Science of Socially Aware Algorithm Design
Author: Michael Kearns
Published Date: 2019-11
Page: 256

"The data science revolution has important ethical underpinnings. The authors make a powerful case for the development of AI ethics as a subject in its own right. The Ethical Algorithm shows that apocalyptic predictions of an algorithmized society are far from inevitable. Anyone interested in AI should read and process this essential book." -Dr. Marcos Lopez de Prado, C.E.O. of True Positive Technologies, L.P., and Quant of the Year 2019 (The Journal of Portfolio Management)Michael Kearns is Professor and the National Center Chair in the Computer and Information Science department of the University of Pennsylvania, where he has secondary appointments in Economics and the Wharton School. He is also the Founding Director of Penn's Warren Center for Network and Data Sciences. Kearns has published widely in machine learning, artificial intelligence, algorithmic game theory and quantitative finance. He has worked extensively in the finance and technology industries, and consulted on various legal and regulatory matters involving algorithms, data, and machine learning. Together with U.V. Vazirani, he is the author of An Introduction to Computational Learning Theory.Aaron Roth is the class of 1940 Bicentennial Term Associate Professor in the Computer and Information Science department at the University of Pennsylvania, where he co-directs Penn's program in Networked and Social Systems Engineering. Roth has published widely in algorithms, machine learning, data privacy, and algorithmic game theory, and has consulted extensively about algorithmic privacy. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) awarded by President Obama in 2016. Together with Cynthia Dwork, he is the author of The Algorithmic Foundations of Differential Privacy.

Over the course of a generation, algorithms have gone from mathematical abstractions to powerful mediators of daily life. Algorithms have made our lives more efficient, more entertaining, and, sometimes, better informed. At the same time, complex algorithms are increasingly violating the basic rights of individual citizens. Allegedly anonymized datasets routinely leak our most sensitive personal information; statistical models for everything from mortgages to college admissions reflect racial and gender bias. Meanwhile, users manipulate algorithms to "game" search engines, spam filters, online reviewing services, and navigation apps.

Understanding and improving the science behind the algorithms that run our lives is rapidly becoming one of the most pressing issues of this century. Traditional fixes, such as laws, regulations and watchdog groups, have proven woefully inadequate. Reporting from the cutting edge of scientific research, The Ethical Algorithm offers a new approach: a set of principled solutions based on the emerging and exciting science of socially aware algorithm design. Michael Kearns and Aaron Roth explain how we can better embed human principles into machine code - without halting the advance of data-driven scientific exploration. Weaving together innovative research with stories of citizens, scientists, and activists on the front lines, The Ethical Algorithm offers a compelling vision for a future, one in which we can better protect humans from the unintended impacts of algorithms while continuing to inspire wondrous advances in technology.

The Laws of Human Nature Download

ISBN: B07DLDD46C
Title: The Laws of Human Nature Pdf

From the number-one New York Times best-selling author of The 48 Laws of Power comes the definitive new audiobook on decoding the behavior of the people around you.

Robert Greene is a master guide for millions of listeners, distilling ancient wisdom and philosophy into essential texts for seekers of power, understanding, and mastery. Now he turns to the most important subject of all - understanding people's drives and motivations, even when they are unconscious of them themselves.

We are social animals. Our very lives depend on our relationships with people. Knowing why people do what they do is the most important tool we can possess, without which our other talents can only take us so far. Drawing from the ideas and examples of Pericles, Queen Elizabeth I, Martin Luther King Jr, and many others, Greene teaches us how to detach ourselves from our own emotions and master self-control, how to develop the empathy that leads to insight, how to look behind people's masks, and how to resist conformity to develop your singular sense of purpose. Whether at work, in relationships, or in shaping the world around you, The Laws of Human Nature offers brilliant tactics for success, self-improvement, and self-defense.

Different from Past Greene Books This book is written in the reverse of his past works. Instead of getting historical examples and then interpretation you get long literal explanations of these various laws of human nature followed by a historical example. The change in format is not for the better nor is the execution. The real problem is that Greene goes on too long in his explanations of each law. It becomes boring at times. The discussion on narcissists borders on obsession. This book is closer to Mastery than it is his other works. There's still much to like of course. I think his explanations of the laws are correct and useful. Just too much. The historical examples are excellent of course but there are too few of them.If you are a Greene fan I think you'll see this one is different and just not up to the excellence of past works. Still enjoyable and worth the purchase. Just not overwhelmingly great. Was Robert Greene replaced by Shadow Writer?! Robert Greene at its worst. As others have commented, there is a strange feel about this book. Almost as if this book had been written by a ghost writer instead of Robert Green.Whereas previous books of him were poetic and insightful this one is naive, new edgy, and prosaic. After much reflection, I returned both, the book and the audiobook. You, however, need to make your own mind. I know it wasn’t easy for me to return a book from an author I admire. This book is like therapy 1st day - Huh I guess everybody craves attention2nd day - Oh my god I have been repressing my essentially anger nature for years. This book rapidly alerted me to the parts of myself that I have been trying to hide from myself for years. In addition to that this book will give you a bunch of information on how to understand and interact with other people.
